“Dr. Howard E. Nelson: I have been in the mental health profession for over twenty years. I have worked in a variety of positions providing alcohol and drug counseling, marital and family therapy, individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults. I have been employed with some of the major mental health centers in Shelby County such as Northeast Community Mental Health Center (later became Spectra), Midtown Mental Health Center and Southwest Mental Health Center.
I have been providing outpatient mental health services for 16 years in a private practice setting to a variety of clients. Currently hold Diplomate in Psychological Specialties, Diplomate In Forensic Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider, Licensed Clinical Pastoral Therapist, Certified Master Level Social Worker-Licensed Eligible.
I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work Treatment, Masters in Christian Counseling, and Doctorate in Philosophy in Counseling Psychology. Certified Critical Incident Stress Debriefer,Certfied Criminal Justice Addictions Examiner and Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Specialist. Comprehensive Professional Services provide opportunities for graduate placements for students pursuing their Masters.”
