“My sessions with clients are individualized and practical. I have extensive experience with issues related to personal finance (mismanagement, compulsivity, partnership conflict). My expertise also includes the navigation of challenging life transitions, anxiety, depression, alcohol/drug recovery, and couples therapy. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches for creating a safe and collaborative environment to overcome negative behavior patterns and expand personal freedom. Sessions frequently incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques, strengths-based solution focus, motivational interviewing, and insights from developmental psychology and contemporary neuroscience. Couples sessions explore systemic relational issues as well as identified areas of discord.

My work as a Licensed Professional Counselor is enriched by my background in the business world. During the twenty-five years prior to becoming a therapist, I was a partner in an investment management firm, owner-manager of a personnel agency and member/broker at the Chicago Board of Trade.

I have an unshakable belief in the resiliency of individual human potential. I have watched people become more empowered as a result of the therapeutic process ... and then create better lives for themselves and the people who are close to them.”
