“People often come for psychotherapy believing they have tried everything to solve their problems. From their perspective this feels true. However, it is hard to be objective, when you've been immersed in a problem. In psychotherapy I help people take a step back, and examine their situation through the lense of an objective observer. Through this process, they begin to see islands of strength within themselves. As they examine these strengths, people begin making changes in their lives. In psychotherapy, I help people develop a specific focused goal and treatment plan that focuses on making changes toward these goals.
Adults come to see me when they are having severe conflict in an important relationship, when they are struggling with work, school, or when they are experiencing psychological distress, such as anxiety, depression, or the ability to cope with stress.
Parents bring their children or adolescents to see me when: they are having severe conflicts with them, if their children are struggling with school work, when their children have difficulty developing peer relationships, or when their children are experiencing psychological distress, such as anxiety, depression, and difficulty adjusting to change.”
