Ms. Shannon M. Westermeier

“Since graduating from Truman State University in June 2002, I have worked extensively with college student populations and young adults on many levels. In June 2006, I joined the staff of Noeticus Counseling Center as a Counseling Extern and am now happy to be one of the staff psychotherapists with Denver Psychotherapy and Consultation Services. While working part-time with DPCS, I also work full-time in a pre-collegiate program for middle school and high school students.

I work from a client-centered approach, focusing on the cognitive messages you tell yourself and the life choices you make based on those messages. I see my role as a support person for you and also as someone who challenges patterns that seem to detract you from your goals.

Besides my work with college students and young adults, other areas of specialization include working with sexual assault survivors, individuals with eating disorders, as well as individuals coping with general transitional issues.”
