I focus on helping a wide range of people---children, adolescents, and adults. My adult patients typically come to me because of problems involving depression, anxiety, difficult relationships, and parenting issues. The children and adolescents I see typically have problems involving attention, depression, anxiety, oppositional behavior, and poor self esteem. These problems are often related to stress at home and at school. One of my specialties with youngsters is helping them cope with bullying (including cyber-bullying), harassment, and excessive social media use.
I believe strongly that good therapy is based on scientific evidence of "what works." In addition to being a therapist, I'm a Professor Emeritus at UC Riverside. Over 30 years of experience give me a broad perspective on social, emotional, developmental, and educational challenges of children and adolescents as well as issues and problems faced by adults.
This perspective---coupled with a warm, empathic personal style---have helped my clients reach their goals in therapy. I invite you to come in and discuss issues that you'd like to improve in your life. We can develop a plan to address these issues and give you a healthier and happier life.
